Antenna Validation Engineer

Overview  As Antenna Validation Engineer you will actively participate in evaluating and validating antenna solutions and new wireless systems for consumer electronics. You will work with our clients on the latest technologies, using world-class labs and equipment with the aim of pushing the boundaries and create a state of the art products.

We expect you to have a broad knowledge of antenna theory, antenna technology, and antenna manufacturing processes but most of all a solid experience in OTA and SAR performance testing. The role also requires expert technical communication, both within the field of Antenna and RF but also with cross- functional teams involving several other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities And Activities Include
  1. Antenna performance validation throughout a product design cycle.
  2. Test and validate Over The Air (OTA) performance in controlled environment as an anechoic and reverberation.
  3. Run Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)validation and evaluate results.
  4. Partner with other functions to optimize performance and analyze root cause.
  5. Evaluate regulatory requirements and perform pre-compliance test.
  6. Prototyping, bring up, lab bench debug, and root cause.
  7. Participate in characterizing and debugging desense issues to meet requirements.
  8. Support EMI/EMC trouble shooting and validation.
  9. Communicate trade-offs, program concerns and technical direction.
  10. Factory prototype production support.
Education And Experience Requirements
  1. Minimum BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in antenna design for small form consumer electronics.
  3. Knowledge of electromagnetic theory with application to antennas, RF/Microwave circuit and network theory
  4. Experience working with different wireless communication systems, cellular as well as non- cellular is expected.
  5. Solid experience with radiation patter and Over The Air (OTA) measurements using anechoic and/or reverberation chambers are required.
  6. Hands-on experience in Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) testing, standards, mitigation techniques.
  7. Experience from working with regulatory requirements and certification processes for wireless devices.
  8. Experience with lab equipment such as Vector network analyzer, Communication Tester, Signal Generator, etc.
  9. Experience with 3D EM simulation tools such as Computer Simulation Technology (CST) and High-Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) is a plus.
  10. Experience with antenna prototyping tools and techniques is beneficial
