DISPLAY TUNING ENGINEER



JOB DESCRIPTION


Our client is looking for a Display Tuning Engineer for one of our clients in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will do hands-on testing, and validation of displays and for our client. You will create and run scripts for batch processing, operate lab equipment (lighting system, spectrophotometer, etc.) as well as measure display color characteristics, test display IQ and other related factors, such as ambient light, camera IQ, video conference IQ, and end to end image quality. Based on all that information, you will tune the Display for optimal performance.

The work is to be done in close cooperation with our client, their R&D organization, and in their labs. Great communication skills and the ability to work across disciplines and technology areas is essential. You also need to be passionate about learning new things and work in different contexts.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Measuring display characteristics
  • Performing manual display validation
  • Creating and running scripts, Python compatible, for batch processing, operating lab equipment (lighting system, spectrophotometer, etc.)
  • Test display IQ and related factors, such as ambient light, camera IQ, video conference IQ, and end to end image quality
  • Analyze and tune based on the test results
  • Communicate your results with the appropriate persons in the client organization 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


  • Minimum of a B.S. degree
  • Experience in display image quality measurements
  • Experience in display calibration and validation
  • Experience in display tuning based on the test results
  • Hands on experience in hardware testing
  • Experience in developing, writing, and updating test scripts
  • Android platform testing experience
  • Experience from working in cross functional teams in large R&D projects
  • Color science or imaging science background is a plus.
  • Experience in full Image pipeline control, primarily for TV (HDMI) is a plus
  • Python programming experience is a plus
  • MediaTek platform experience is a plus
